Don Bemoans policy inconsistency on environmental issues

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources has inaugurated a committee for this year’s World Toilet Day celebration.
The celebration takes place in November each year.

According to the statement signed by the press officer of the ministry, Mrs. Funmi Imuetinyan, the World Toilet Day 2022 planning committee was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu in Abuja.
According to Eng. Adamu, the committee which will be chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and co-chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Environment also includes international stakeholders and development partners like UNICEF, WHO (World Health Organization), WaterAid, USAID, World Bank, AfDB (African Development Bank), NEWSAN, Dangote Foundation, BUA Limited, Nigerian Bottling Company, Reckitt Benckiser, Procter and Gamble and FEMinWASH as members respectively.
Other members of the Planning Committee announced by the Honorable Minister include; Federal Ministry of Information, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Federal Ministry of the Interior and Federal Ministry of Education.
The minister also announced as members of the planning committee, the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the National Referral Agency, the Nigerian Immigration Service , Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Security. Corps and Department of State Security and Department of Water Quality Control and Sanitation Federal Ministry of Water Resources as (Secretariat).
The committee’s terms of reference are to identify and compile the guest list for the event, identify and secure the location, develop the agenda for the event, ensure coverage adequate media and publicity, organize adequate security at the event venue, organize the list of protocols, and ensure engagement with state-level actors for follow-up actions at the government level. State, among others.
The Committee was charged with planning and rolling out initiatives to ensure the successful organization of the Global Toilet Summit in Nigeria.
