Punjab polls: Political bonhomie seen at Amritsar event on environmental issues

Political bonhomie was witnessed at a ceremony held by some social and religious organizations in Amritsar to address Punjab’s environmental concerns as leaders with allegiance to different parties vowed to adopt their platform.

The ceremony was organized in a school by the Punjab Environmental Awareness Movement, a joint platform of various organizations, in collaboration with the Panthic Talmel Sangathan and the Akal Purakh Ki Fauj.

Renowned environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal, former IAS officer Kahan Singh Pannu and former jathedar Takht Damdama Sahib Giani Kewal Singh among others addressed the rally.

Congress State Chairman Navjot Singh Sidhu, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate of Amritsar North and former IGP Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh and Shiromani City Chairman Akali Dal Gurpartap Singh Tikka, were present on occasion.

Interestingly, Sidhu and Kunwar Vijay were seen shaking hands and hugging. Additionally, the two secured the gathering to address their environmental concerns.
